We have grown the ever popular Phillyrea balls for several years now as they are good evergreen plants that take really well in gardens as shrubby topiary.  They are covered in brilliantly scented flowers from the base of the leaves the spring and early summer, followed by black berries which only adds their garden appeal. Photinia ‘Magical Volcano’ - 7.5litre

Red Robin who? You'll forget all about Photinia 'Red Robin' when you see the intense red growth of this newer breed of Photinia. Photinia 'Magical Volcano' has tough green serrated leaves and a naturally dense habit, crowned with vivid red new growth. White flower heads are followed by dark berries, adding further interest through the season. Perfect as a standout screening plant or planted in groups to create a striking hedge. Santolina chamaecyparissus - 7.5Litre

A delightful evergreen shrub with a naturally rounded form, soft grey foliage and a wonderful aromatic scent. Its finely divided leaves provide year-round interest and contrast beautifully with neighbouring plants. In summer, bright yellow button-like flowers are held above the foliage, creating a cheerful display that is loved by pollinators. An excellent choice for sunny borders, gravel gardens and coastal planting. I have also seen these used very successfully in gardens where the flowers are clipped off before they open (which, to be honest, I find rather sad for the bugs!). Kept regularly trimmed, they form neat silver balls and make a wonderfully quirky alternative to box. Spiraea japonica 'Double Play Big Bang' - 7.5Litre

A great plant which truly flowers with pretty pink flowers. In spring the foliage emerges a glowing orange colour, fading to tones of yellow and bright green with hints of red. Tetrapanax papyrifera ‘Rex’ - 7.5Litre

This is one of the most spectacular exotic plants with huge deeply lobed leaves, emerging slightly fluffy, doing best in partial shade. In milder reasons of the UK it is almost evergreen but the further north it will start to loose its leaves in the winter. Viburnum tinus ‘Gwenllian’ - 7.5 Litre

A lovely medium-sized evergreen shrub with clusters of bold pink-red buds that open to delicate pink flowers from winter through to spring and, to be honest, they will continue to appear sporadically throughout the year if the plant is kept fed and watered! This viburnum provides valuable colour during the colder months. It is a reliable and easy-to-grow shrub that brings year-round structure to the garden. Many people use these in pots as low-maintenance plants. However, have you ever noticed they sometimes develop a black, sooty appearance on their leaves and start to look... well... a bit ill? That's usually because they are not being kept on top of watering and feeding. Stressed plants are often more susceptible to aphids, and the sticky honeydew they produce can encourage the growth of black sooty mould on the leaves. To keep your Viburnum happy, water it a few times a week when growing in a pot, even during winter if rainfall has been scarce. We also recommend feeding with a good shrub fertiliser (we like Vitax Q4) twice a year (spring and autumn) and occasionally giving it a boost with a liquid seaweed feed containing iron.
