Aronia melanocarpa 'Autumn Magic' - 10Litre

The Chokeberry is a deciduous shrub with green leaves turning an outrageous riot fire reds, oranges, purples and yellow's in Autumn. This Aronia is covered in clusters of delicate white flowers in spring followed swiftly by red berries holding throughout the season. We really enjoy this plant on the nursery because not only is it really a very attractive plant but the berries are Delicious. Aucuba japonica Marmorata - 7.5Litre

This delightful Spotted Laurel is on of the more spotted of the Aucuba's with beautifully marbled yellow and green leaves. This rounded shrub is excellent for brightening the deepest shade. One bonus of this Aucuba is that it will fruit with red berries in summer providing there is a male cultivar nearby. Leaf colour: Yellow and green. Type: Evergreen. Berberis thunbergii f. 'Atropurpurea Nana' - 7.5Litre

 This Berberis, much like most Berberis is a fantastically thorny plant which as beautiful as it is, it is one to approach wearing gauntlets and with great care. I like to plant them in places I don't particularly want people to be able to access. Blog post on traditional house 'defence' plants to follow. A vigorous shrub with arching branches holding red rounded occasionally mottled green in tone, turning more and more plumb as the season goes on. The flowers are an unassuming yellow in spring followed by red berries in Autumn.  Note from Hannah - Berberis berries are known as Barberries and are extremely popular in Moroccan cooking. Whilst this plant is a particularly spiky one the berries are relatively easy to collect hanging on the underneath of the branches, so much so my small children help me pick ours every year, (their little hands are particularly good at avoiding the thorns) and absolutely love them as they are more flavoursome than raisins.  Leaf colour: Red. Callistemon 'Honey Pot' - BCG24 - 7.5Litre

This bottlebrush is an exotic looking plant with long arching stems of green waxy leaves. In spring the Callistemon develops a fluffy tips to the ends of the branches in as the new leaves emerge in soft fluffy tufts at the tips of the branches, these are followed by long, unusually shaped yellow flowers also on the tips of the branches. These flowers are an absolute mecca for butterflies, bees and hover-flies.  This plant does really well in in the garden generally but also succeeds in pots and particularly in hot, dry areas of the garden. Clethra barbinervis - BCG23 - 10Litre

The Japanese Clethra is a fantastic shrub with strong green, slightly ribbed leaves growing from reddened stems and long pinnacles of white flowers in summer which are extremely attractive to insects, butterflies in particular. One of the most interesting things about this plant is as it matures and develops a trunk the bark colours are much more than your regular brown trunk.
