David
David learned his love for horticulture growing up on his family's market garden. He's now (mostly!) retired, so takes more of a back seat on the nursery and finally has time to indulge in his other passion - lawn bowls.

Ann
Ann may say she never wanted to be in horticulture but she very successfully ran the bedding production team for many years. Now semi-retired, we persuade her to return when we need extra hands to take cuttings and pot.
General manager / partner
Mike
Mike was born at Rotherhill so being a nurseryman really is in his blood! After school he worked for a year on the nursery before studying landscaping at Merrist Wood. Mike knew early on that he wanted to take on the nursery and, after working alongside David for many years, now leads the management team. He is an extremely knowledgeable nurseryman with a real passion for plants.

Jemma
Jemma (Mike's older sister) runs the bedding plant production and general sundries departments. She grew up on the nursery then, after university, was tempted away by the bright lights of New York. On her return home she came back to horticulture and is now a key member of the management team.
Website and mail order
Hannah
Hannah studied garden design at Merrist Wood and met Mike on the nursery when she was gardening after leaving university. Her first job at Rotherhill was covering Jemma's maternity leave - it was only meant to be temporary! 12 years later, Mike is now 'husband' rather than 'new boyfriend' and her role has expanded to include responsibility for the website and mail order side of the business.

Meg
Meg came to Rotherhill, having previously worked in the equine industry. Her first job was in the cafe - she's an excellent chef. However she soon caught the horticultural bug! Meg now sows all our seeds and manages our vegetable production. She has just passed her RHS Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of Growth, Health and Applied Propagation

Luis
Before moving to the UK and joining Rotherhill, Luis worked on the tuna fang boats out of Morocco and ran a restaurant in Portugal! He's been with us for a long time and is responsible for potting out tens of thousands of our plants every year.

Lincoln's wealth of knowledge, rapport with customers and flair for displays make him invaluable to our team

Oronzo
Hailing originally from Italy, Oronzo moved to the UK with his now wife, Carmela. He's now our chief waterer and general nurseryman, helping to keep all our plants in great condition for our customers.

Miriam
Miriam, Luis's daughter, is one of the most versatile members of our team. You'll find her in the shop and answering the phone, as well as working as a general nurseryman.

Charlie
Charlie, Meg's husband, does our deliveries. He's also our in-house cowboy as he's an expert level Western horse rider!
A wealth of horticultural knowledge
Everyone on the Rotherhill team is intimately involved in growing and caring for the plants we sell. So there's a huge depth and breadth of knowledge available to you on the phone, by email or any time you're on the nursery.
So if you're after inspiration for what to plant in a tricky spot, are struggling with aphids or blight, or just want to know how best to care for a particular plant, just ask. We grow over 80% of our plants ourselves so we'll almost certainly have the answer!
The dogs aren't so good with questions but do a great line in woofs and cuddles....

Disco
Hannah and Mike's newest dog! Disco is still a puppy and is busily learning how to be a dog on the nursery! So far he thinks everyone and everything is great fun. Training is going well(ish)....
Dusty
Dusty is Meg and Charlie's dog. She is about 1 year old and is a super springy Springer Spaniel. She goes out on deliveries with Charlie.
Holly
Holly is Jemma's dog. She is 18 months and is a labradoodle. She is the only one of her litter to look like a labrador rather than a doodle!
Thatch
Our blond Collie x Retriever, Thatch, is 12. Please don't anyone give her any treats! She is on a permanent diet.
