Clethra barbinervis - 10Litre
The Japanese Clethra is a fantastic shrub with strong green, slightly ribbed leaves growing from reddened stems and long pinnacles of white flowers in summer which are extremely attractive to insects, butterflies in particular. One of the most interesting things about this plant is as it matures and develops a trunk the bark colours are much more than your regular brown trunk. There is a plethora of brown and red tones, highlighted with creamy white splotches where the bark naturally peels and breaks away from the trunk.
